• Category One – Originates from a clean water source and doesn’t pose significant health threats. Examples include a broken water supply line or sink overflow.
• Category Two – Contains significant contamination and has the potential to cause negative health effects. Examples include discharge from dishwashers or washing machines, and broken toilet bowls with urine but no feces.
• Category Three – Grossly contaminated and contains harmful agents. Examples include sewage backups and flooding from groundwater.

The “class of water” refers to the initial amount of water and the anticipated rate of evaporation. The four classes of water are:

• Class One – Only part of a room or area is wet. There is minimal moisture and little or no carpet or padding is wet.
• Class Two – An entire room is wet, including carpet and padding. Water has also wicked up the walls less than 24 inches.
• Class Three – Water may have come from above with moisture intrusion in the ceilings, walls, floors, insulation, and carpeting.
• Class Four – Materials with very low porosity are wet, such as brick, concrete, and plaster.

On average, the process takes three to five days but may take longer depending on the extent of the damage. Our technicians will monitor the progress daily, using state-of-the-art moisture meters. We’ll add, remove, or relocate equipment as necessary to ensure the fastest results.

Equipment left on site should remain running and only be removed by one of our experienced restoration technicians.
